I’M DR. VALERIA CHUBA
& certified intimacy coach
Years ago, I became my own first client. I had hit a point in my life where I had a choice to make. Either continue having mediocre or downright bad sex and unsuccessful relationships, or step up and take charge of my sex life. You see, like most people (probably you, too), I grew up tragically unprepared for sex and intimacy. No sexual education to speak of? Check. An over-abundance of inhibitions and shame about my body and sexuality? Check. Disappointment, frustration, and despair for things to ever get better? Check, check, and check.
Hitting that point of no return was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Having always been curious about sex and relationships, I decided to embark on a journey of self-education and exploration. And through the years of learning about sex from the most trusted expert sources, I watched myself transform from an unhappy, inhibited, dissatisfied woman into the confident, sensual woman I am today. I didn’t just learn the expert tools and strategies; I used them on myself. I became my own first client, and I was a resounding success. And because I’m a firm believer that pleasure should be shared, I decided that helping others achieve the joy of great sex and intimacy would become my profession.
My training in sexology is deeply rooted in the understanding of human sexuality as multi-dimensional and holistic. I was fortunate to learn this approach and the accompanying methodology from my mentors and thought leaders in the field of human sexuality, Dr. Patti Britton (creator of the MEBES sex coaching model) and Dr. Gina Ogden (creator of the 4-D Wheel sex therapy model and the Relational Sexuality Network).
What does this “multi-dimensional, holistic approach” mean in practical terms? If you work with me, we will explore each of the following four dimensions of your sexuality:
Your thoughts, attitudes and beliefs about sexuality and intimacy; your imagination and fantasies
Your body; health; body image; sensuality and pleasure
Your feelings about sex and relationships; your emotional needs related to sex and intimacy
Your values; spiritual beliefs; need for connection and meaning
In addition to the holistic model of sexuality, I use a variety of sexological and coaching tools and techniques – some of which I received in training, and others that I created myself. This means that when we work together, our coaching strategy will be uniquely tailored to your situation, needs and goals.
